Stop Dreaming and Get Going

Who doesn't wish and dream for a better tomorrow? We all want a better life for ourselves and our children. The reality is that we live in a fallen world and if you believe what the Bible says you know it is going to get worst before it gets better. But take heart and be of good courage because we win in the end and not just that, we are to be salt and light. Stop dreaming and get out and make things happen for the good of your community. When is the last time you walked around your community and prayed for your neighbors? Why not be a light today!?!

Tell somebody about the Beloved Prayer Community. Get them to sign up on this blog site and be one of the 1000 praying for Dolton. Be fearless in your quest to get your neighbors and family saved.

Be a soul winner. "Soul winners re not soul winners because of what they know, but because of whom they know and how well they know Him and how much they long for others to know Him." Dolson Trottman -- Founder of the Navigators.

In It To Win It

As children of the Most High God, we have the power to change the world for good. But often when we get a great idea, we begin the project but there is no follow through. We get impatient and we drop the cause to pursuit something else. God is waiting for us to stop putting things off, get going and make an impact for His kingdom. We have to recognize we are in it to win it. We can’t stop we have to complete what we start.

Get ready, get set, now Go.

Celebrating the 4th of July

The headlines said it all, “Fewer at Taste.” Attendance is down by 700,000. A drop of 21% because the City of Chicago decided to eliminate their customary fire works exhibit and in its place, three separate events. In Calumet City the big fireworks exhibit lasted all of 19 minutes. Now I really don’t like going to places where there are such large crowds…however, those are excellent places to pray.

While most people are pushing their way to delectable goodies that are not really good for them, or looking for a great place to see the fireworks, we intercessors can have a really great time praying for the vendors as well as people coming for the sights and sounds. And how about those in our community who are enjoying their day off at home? We can take the opportunity to meet our neighbors and pray for them too.

Happy Fourth of July America…Let’s all pray for revival to come before the next Fourth of July!

I Am With You

You have to agree that more than ever before we need deliverance in our communities.  Many people do not know how to help, nor do they know what has gone wrong.  The first thing we have to do is recognize that we have a problem.  It’s time we pray for our community and for those who desperately need a way out of the problems they face. God promised that He would deliver Jeremiah and He did.  He will do the same for us.  The Lord wants to hear from you today.  If we lift our voices to Him in prayer…He will answer.

The Beloved Prayer Community - Prayers for Spiritual Leadership

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

The recent violent crime wave that Dolton has experienced, along with the signs of corruption and apathy that are so prevalent in both our civic and faith communities, are only reminders and confirmation as to just how much people here, and everywhere really need the Lord.

In every area, and on every level, we can clearly see the need for a move of God's Spirit in Dolton that will only come through wide spread prayer and repentance; along with God's people rising up together to boldly declare His Kingdom and retake territory that seemingly has been lost.  We are God's standard bearers...the army of God...the first to smite at the enemy...and we need to confront him boldly in every place he raises his ugly head.  The Bible says:

So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19

We've been praying for our civic leaders, to include Mayor Ronnie C. Lewis and the village board; and we encourage you to continue to do so daily.  Check our last blog post to see their email addresses, and let them know that you are praying for them on a daily basis.  But we also want to remind them that they have a responsibility to govern with godly integrity; and to seek godly counsel as to how to address the needs of their people.  Presently, we do not see that reflected in their approach to leadership...and that's a problem.  Our prayer is for repentance or removal.  Only God knows which it will be.

Let's now add prayer for revival among Dolton's pastors and spiritual leaders.
  • Pray that they will lead the way in humility, repentance, and prayer (Joel 2:17).
  • Pray that they will not be motivated by a fleshly desire of recognition, but that they will live and minister for the glory of God alone.
  • Pray that God will protect their families from the attacks of Satan
  • Pray that they will be faithful in proclaiming the truth of God's Word, and that they will not be bound by tradition or fear of men.
  • Pray that they will be pure in life and doctrine (I Timothy 4:16).

WE ARE LOOKING FOR PRAYER WALKERS TO BE PRESENT AT THE DOLTON 4TH OF JULY PICNIC AND PARADE.  WE WILL WEAR THE GREEN ARMOR (T-SHIRTS) AND APPLY THE MINISTRY OF PRESENCE AMONG THE PEOPLE AS PART OF OUR ON-GOING PRAYER CAMPAIGN.  IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SHIRT, PLEASE CALL REV. LEFLORE @ 856.9043

The Beloved Prayer Community - Praying for Those In Authority

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  I Timothy 2:1-2

As we pray for and anticipate a move of God's Spirit that will result in spiritual awakening and revival in our community, we are reminded by scripture that intercession must be made daily in our prayers for everyone -especially for those who have rule and authority over us - so that we can live as godly and peaceful people living under godly governmental authority.

Our prayer focus therefore; for the week of May 31 - June 6 is for the civil government of Dolton, IL, and the men and women that God has ordained to bear the burden of responsible leadership for us during increasingly more difficult social and economic times.

Understanding that civil government has been ordained and established by God (Romans 13); our responsibility as citizens is to submit to their authority in reverence to God (verse 2), while praying that they operate in their offices as true "servants of God" ruling in righteousness and with integrity.

Our daily support and intersession for our local government as a body this week is that we:
  • Pray that these leaders will take seriously their responsibility to rule "under God."
  • Pray that they will be men and women of conviction and principle and that they will not be controlled by the the influence of the wicked.
  • Pray that they will seek and receive wise, godly counsel.
  • Ask God to change the hearts of those leaders who would defy His cause, or to replace them with God-fearing people who wouldn't.
As you pray for our leaders individually, use this simple acronym to ask God to BLESS them in specific ways to include:

B - body: pray for their physical needs to include their health, protection, etc.
L - labor: pray for their work, job performance, safety, and satisfaction
E - emotions:  pray that love, joy, and peace will be experienced in their lives
S - social:  pray for their relationships...with family members, constituents, co-workers, etc.
S - spiritual:  pray for them to come to know Jesus as their Savior; or if they already know Him that they would grown in their walk with Him and be a credible witness for Him as they govern and work with you in this neighborhood.

These are our government officials and the days we want to be praying for them.  It would be good for you to contact them via their email (listed after their names) to inform them of your prayer commitment for them.

The Beloved Prayer Community - For A Time Such As This

Praise God Beloved Prayer Community:

Yes, it was and remains a sad time in Dolton, IL because of the tragic and sensless murder that took place on Monday, May 24, 2010.  I'm sure that wherever this news was aired that it touched the hearts of many people.  The Holy Scripture says: "From the day of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and the violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize - a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].

It is unfortunate that the senseless shooting and killing of Destin Hernandez ever occured; but it clearly indicates to us how crucial are the days in which we live; and just how great the need for prayer really is. Prayer is what is needed most in times such as these.

We, the Beloved Community and it's Prayer Patrol MUST remain focused with our eyes steadfastly on the prize to allow God to come in and clean up our streets and save our young people.  For God has both instructed and promised us through the Apostle Paul that we are to be confident that God, Who has begun a good work in and through us will work it until Jesus' return (Philippians 1:6).

In every great war there will be some wounded and some extreme casualties.  In this case, we can only thank God that even more were not killed.  But we also must consider that as far as we can tell these violent men - whose actions force us to consider them as enemies of our community - were not themselves wounded or killed as they shot at one another.  Behold the mercy of God, as He spared them to have another chance to repent.

This week, let us pray for the victim and his family, and for one another that we stay strong and committed.  Let us ask God for the grace to be just like the mighty men of Issachar, "who understood the times and knew what [Israel] should do..."  I Chronicles 12:32

Join us this Saturday morning @ 10:00 for our next Prayer Walk in Dolton.  We will me at the Abundant Life Center - 14806 Chicago Road in Dolton, IL.  Don't forget to wear your T-Shirts.  If you don't have one please contact Pastor Ceasar @ 708.856.9043 to get one.  WE NEED YOU TO BE THERE!

Beloved Prayer Community

Scripture Focus for the Week

"Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear, but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear" (Isaiah 59:1,2)

"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there by any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalms 139:23-24)

Prayer Focus for the Week

Confession and Repentance
As we approach the Lord together in prayer asking Him to send revival and spiritual awakening to Dolton, IL, we must remember that there is no sin too small to hinder our prayers. Confession and Repentance are the first steps towards revival. This week as you pray, remember that humility, confession, and repentance are pre-requisites for cleansing, forgiveness, and restoration of God's blessings. The revival prayers recorded in Scripture confirm the need, not only for personal confession, but also for corporate confession (Neh. 1:6, Isaiah 64:6,).

In addition to what God reveals that requires repentance for yourself, your home, your church, and your community. focus on these hiderances to revival prayer:

Monday: Unconfessed sin ~ Psalm 66:18 ~
Confess all known sin, seek a pure heart, by faith claim God's forgiveness
Tuesday: Unresolved conflicts ~ Matt. 5:23-24 ~
Obtain and maintain a clear conscience before all men.
Wednesday: Unforgiving spirit ~ Mk. 11:25,26 ~
Forgive others, as God has forgiven you.
Thursday: Unbelief ~ Mk. 11:22-24 ~
Learn to exercise faith in the power of God.
Friday: Unselfishness ~ Jas. 4:3 ~
Pray with pure motives - Pray for God's glory.
Saturday: Uninspired Prayer ~ Jas:5:16 ~
Pray earnestly and fervently
