This week, our meditation has been excerpted from the book entitled, Bound to Be Free compiled by Jan Pit. In the following short quotation from Ghassan Khalaf (amidst bombings and destruction when he faithfully visited victims of war to encourage them in their faith), Brother Khalaf gives us insight for reflection and perhaps application to our present situation of war for America's moral foundations.
"When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Psalm 11:3)
During wars, moral spiritual foundations are liable to be undermined and people tend to be permissive. They abandon God's laws and government laws. In Lebanon when militia-men dominated, the government was dissolved. A state of chaos and complete confusion emerged. The foundations were destroyed. In a situation like this, what can the righteous do?
Learning from our situation, the righteous can prove that He is the foundation when moral and spiritual foundations are destroyed. The Christian is the law in the absence of the law, and he is the conscience of the nation when morals deteriorate. The example of Christ is reflected in our lives in humanity's darkest hours. Christ is the light of the world, and we should let Him shine through us.
When foundations are destroyed, the righteous should not stand still. He must rebuild what is destroyed. Our call is not just to stand by and observe the destruction. Our call is to share in building up whatever is destroyed, especially in the moral and spiritual realm. What if what we have rebuilt is destroyed again? The righteous should be determined to build it again and again and again.
Will must be faithful to the task of rebuilding, even as Nehemiah was in the Old Testament? Will must find out through prayer and revelation from God what needs rebuilding and dedicate ourselves to the task?

Our Power is in Prayer
Defeat awaits a church that doesn't pray much, but success is sure to follow a church that prays all the time. The supernatural Power of God that is essential to the success of the church comes only through praying. As it has been often said: "Much prayer much power - little prayer little power - no prayer no power." In order for the body of Christ (the church) to be victorious it must commit itself to constant, faith believing prayer. It must become our top priority.
More time in this fast paced age must be given to prayer by a church called by God. More thought must be given to prayer throughout our day. More heart and soul must be invested in our corporate and individual praying if the church is to go forth in the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ and perform the wonders that is ours in Him.
The Beloved Prayer Community is calling the Body of Christ together in prayer so that we can witness the Power of God in a great revival and spiritual awakening in Dolton, IL. The Holy Spirit has directed us to declare Thursday, May 5, 2011 as Dolton's Day of Transformation!
In prayer we are asking God to send His spirit to unify and empower his church, save souls by the hundreds, and to bring peace and prosperity to the city.
If you believe that God's Power in answer to our prayers is sufficient to transform our city, then we are asking you to join us as we consecrate ourselves in preparation for God's amazing things. "...consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you." Joshua 3:5

Willing to Pay the Price for Revival and Spiritual Awakening
When the pastor and the church are to busy to pray, then we are most certainly busier than our Lord would have us to be. How misplaced our priorities must be if we cannot find time to spend with God due to our business of serving Him. Directing souls towards the Kingdom is the mission of the church. If we will give God time then He will give us timeless souls.
The great revival preacher Leonard Ravenhill has said, "The Church has advisers by the carload, but where are her agonizers? Churches, boasting an all time high in attendance, might have to admit an all time low in spiritual births." It is possible to increase our churches without increasing the kingdom. The enemy of multiplication is stagnation. "When believers lacking births become burdened, and when soul sterility sickens us, then we will pulsate with holy fear and pray with holy fervor, and produce with holy fertility. At God's counter there are no sale days, for the price of revival is always the same-- travailing in prayer!
There was a time in eternity past when Satan threw down the gauntlet to the Almighty challenging for supremacy. What a fool. The Savior picked it up and crushed him underfoot. We the church now reign with our Savior. Let us be diligent in advancing the victory. Dolton belongs to the Lord! Unite! in consistent, persistent travailing prayer as we await the Day of Transformation in Dolton.
On the National Day of Prayer, May 5th 2011, the churches of Dolton will come together in a united effort marching through the streets of Dolton praying and praising the Lord Jesus Christ!
Our Lord has given us this vision of prayer and unity. Let us begin now in fervent, consistent, individual and corporate prayer as we follow the Lord's leading in organizing for this day. Many have already voiced their interest in participating and their commitment to it. We will be meeting regularly at different churches throughout the community for prayer as we prepare for the day. We will keep you informed of the different church sites and times.
God Bless and continue to uphold this in prayer.

PRAISE THE LORD
Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God, for He is gracious and lovely; praise is becoming and appropriate. Psalm 147:1
Let them praise and exalt the name of the LORD, for His name alone is exalted and supreme! His glory and majesty are above earth and heaven! Psalm 148:13
Praise Him for His mightly acts; praise Him according to the abundance of His greatness! Psalm 150:2
"When you begin your prayers, use such various expressions of the attributes of God as may make you most aware of the greatness and power of His divine nature. Our fellowship should begin with the primary elements of adoration and praise."
Join us Saturday morning as we ride through Dolton praying and also sharing our faith with those who the Lord leads us to speak with.
Join us also as we continue to pray for at least 1,000 people to pray daily for Dolton.

EVEN KINGS MUST PRAY
Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: with him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
2 Chronicles 32:7,8.
King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer to heaven about this. And the Lord sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the leaders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king.
2 Chronicles 32:20,21.
King Hezekiah's defense against the mighty enemies of God was prayer. His enemies cowered and were destroyed by God's answer to his prayers, even when his own armies were powerless. God's people were always safe when their princes bowed in prayer.
Join us as one of the 1,000 people praying for Dolton daily.
We will meet this Saturday at Abundant Life Center, 14806 Chicago Rd. 9:45 a.m. to ride through Dolton, praying and sharing the Gospel with those God puts us in contact with.

PRAYER: POWER FOR TREASURES OF GOOD
God commits Himself to people. Praying people do His work and carry out His plans.
Yet people in general, have quit praying. They are too busy to pray. Time and strength and every faculty are given over to money, to business, to the affairs of the world. Few people expend themselves in great praying. The great business of praying is a hurried, petty, starved, beggarly business with most people.
Better praying and more of it, that is what we need. We need holier men and more of them, holier women, and more of them to pray. We are obliged to pray if we are citizens of God's kingdom.
The Apostle Paul, Martin Luther, John Wesley; what would these chosen men be without the element of prayer? They were leaders for God because they were mighty in prayer.
Praying men means more than men who pray by habit. It means men with whom prayer is a mighty force, and energy that moves heaven and pours untold treasures of good on earth.

PRAY LIKE NASH
The great American evangelist Charles Finney, a prominent figure in America's Second Great Awakening never counted on his theology, messages, preaching style, logic, or methods to save souls. He looked rather to mighty prayer and the resulting powerful work of the Holy Spirit to sweep in with great conviction on his audience. Daniel Nash is the prayer warrior who accompanied Finney.
When God would direct where a meeting was to be held, Daniel Nash would slip quietly into town and seek to get two or three people to enter into prayer with him. Together they would begin to pray fervently for God to move in the community.
Often Nash would not attend the meetings, and while Finney was preaching Nash was praying for the Spirit's outpouring upon him. Finney stated, "I did the preaching altogether, and brother Nash gave himself up almost continually to prayer." Often while Finney preached to the multitudes, Nash in some adjoining house would be upon his face in an agony of prayer.
This may well explain why 80 percent of those converted in his meetings stood the test of time. Years later D.L. Moody followed a similar pattern but without such a prayer warrior as Nash. He saw perhaps 50 percent of his converts last. Today, a well known evangelist said that he would be delighted if 20 percent of his converts were genuinely converted. In this day with many programs but little prayer, with much organizing but little agonizing, we would be wise to learn lessons from the past. We can learn those lessons from a man such as Daniel Nash.

PURSUING THE WRONG VISITOR
How many people pass by on the roads outside the church and we sit inside begging for them to visit. We are pursuing the wrong visitor. Jesus said, if I be lifted up I will draw all men to Me!
we have focused our attention on attracting man and making man comfortable, but how long has it been since the church has come to understand what it takes to make God comfortable. You can attract a crowd of men and not have anything, but if you attract the manifest presence of God you will not have to worry about attracting men.
Last week we spoke of the Korean Church's fervent prayer and 25% of the nation coming to Christ. Imagine 750,000 new believers in Chicago. Imagine 3,000,000 new believers in the Chicago area. Let us fervently seek God in prayer!

Prayer is Working in Dolton
Before we issue our prayer challenge for this week we'd like to share a praise report as to how God is answering our prayers for Dolton.
This week, Dolton Mayor Ronnie C. Lewis commissioned a task force to address the problems of underage drinking and tobacco use in the village of Dolton, IL. As many of you are aware, the Beloved Prayer Community has been praying and urging the village to work with groups like the South Suburban Prevention Coaliton and The Beloved Community Development Coalition to address youth access to packaged liquor from stores in the area.
Initially, we could not find common ground with the mayor, the village board, or the Dolton Youth Commission from which we could work together on the issue. We took it to the Lord in prayer, and God has worked out a marvelous reconciliation between us.
God's grace has not only allowed us to become unified behind the desire to protect our youth from easy access to packaged liquor, but has also allowed us to work closely together on issues concerning the school board, presenting a NASA Youth Program, and the Septemember 4th Sexual Abstinence Rally. Because of prayer, we can see the walls of division beginning to crumble. Amen.
Now, our prayer word for the week from Pastor Ed Domagal:
The western church sleeps through prayer time and collapses in evangelism. The Korean Church prays all night and then sweeps through the natlion with the gospel, seeing 25% of the nation come to Christ during the last century. While the Christian church in the third world expands at these amazing rates, American Christians, in spite of great effort and financial expense, have not seen a single county in the United States grow in the net number of Christians in the past two decades.
"Nowhere is more Christian literature published, nowhere are more crusades, christian radio and TV, seminars on evangelism, than in Canada and the the U.S.A. And nowhere (apart from Europe) are these major thrusts less productive." Like the disciples in the Garden, we sleep when we should be praying and suffer the consequences acccordingly.
Brother's and Sister's in Christ, join us this Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. 14806 Chicago Rd. Abundant Life Ministries, as we continue our Joshua prayer drive around Dolton. We are circling the city in vehicles for 7 weeks while praying for God's Spirit to move powerfully throughout the city. We are at the half way point. Come and join us for the final 3 weeks.

REMOVE THE VEIL
"The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."
2 Corinthians 4:4
Brothers and sisters in Christ, the intercessory WORK of our Lord Jesus Christ has accomplished EVERYTHING necessary to break through that spirtual veil of spiritual darkness that keeps people from seeing the truth of the gospel. Prayer is a vital and powerfull weapon that the Lord has given to us to wield in applying the intercessory work of the Lord to all situations. But we must be relentless in doing so. If we are relentless we will see breakthroughs of spiritual light.
Join with us as we continue our Joshua prayer on Saturday mornings beginning at 9:30 a.m. Abundant Life Fellowship, 14806 Chicago Rd.
Pass the word on to others, we are believing God to raise up at least 1,000 prayer warriors who will pray daily for Dolton and join together in concerted prayer efforts throughout Dolton.

Two and a half billion non believers of Jesus Christ live in the shadows of church buildings around the world. We need missions to reach people, but almost half the people in the world could be reached by existing churches if they made the effort.

"And The Walls Will Crumble"
"Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you." Joshua 3:5
It's hard to imagine that any one of us who name the Name of the Lord has not at some point felt as though we were besieged and/or trapped behind impenetrable barriers in our personal and spiritual lives. Whether those barriers seemed intended for locking in or locking out, we all have had need for God to come through powerfully for us to eradicate barriers that would potentially keep us from realizing His divine purpose and will for our lives.
In leading God's people, Joshua experienced first hand the challenges of crossing barriers that stood in between God's people and His promise. And even though these barriers at times seemed insurmountable, Joshua and the Israelites repeatedly witnessed first hand that the Lord was more than able to breach every one of them.
In Joshua chapter one God told him, "Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses."
In spite of the fact that there was a river, large armies, and entrenched wickedness ahead of them, Joshua believed the Lord Who told him: "No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them.
Throughout our communities we see walls and barriers erected everywhere. And even though most of them are not bricks and mortar or even raging rivers, they can be just as limiting to our possessing the land and establishing God's Kingdom if we - the Church of Jesus Christ- become faithless and allow those walls to go unchallenged.
The walls that people build around their hearts that lock Jesus out and evil in must be destroyed. The walls that separate the Household of Faith from one another must come down. That walls of fear that evil men in both high and low places would erect to imprison the body of Christ must be revealed to be paper thin and not able to withstand God's righteous church. Jesus said that "upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matt. 16:18
So what is the wrecking ball that will break us through to victory? It's prayer! It's powerful, persistent, and faith believing prayer that will move God on our behalf. It will take fasting together, praying together, and tarrying together until the Lord answers as only He can. It will take putting ourselves in the position of not being distracted by the circumstances around us while focusing squarely on the miraculous means by which the Lord will deliver us, and destroy the walls that are keeping many imprisoned.
"Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.
God lets some people in to freedom and some people out to freedom-but freedom still, because through Christ all walls fall down. "For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility..."
Just as Joshua saw the walls of Jericho come crashing down, we can also see our own walls crumble in ruins if we will trust and believe.
As an outward sign that we know that God can and will do this for our city, we will circle the perimeter of Dolton, IL in cars once a week for seven weeks beginning on October 16, 2010 as a sign of active faith.
This weeks wall: "The Wall of Spiritual Wickedness"
We will gather at the Abundant Life Center, 14806 Chicago Road in Dolton at 09:45 a.m. For more details please call The Beloved Prayer Community at 708.856.9043.

Drink Abundantly, O Beloved!
"Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst." --John 4:14
He who is a believer in Jesus finds enough in his Lord to satisfy him now, and to content him for evermore. The believer is not the man whose days are weary for want of comfort, and whose nights are long from absence of heart-cheering thought, for he finds in his faith such a spring of joy, such a fountain of consolation, that he is content and happy. Put him in a dungeon and he will find good company; place him in a barren wilderness, he will eat the bread of heaven; drive him away from friendship, he will meet the "friend that sticketh closer than a brother." Life may shake the foundation of his earthly hopes, but his heart will still be fixed, trusting in the Lord.
The heart is as insatiable as the grave till Jesus enters it, and then it is a cup full to overflowing. There is such a fullness in Christ that He alone is the believer's all. The true saint is so completely satisfied with the all-sufficiency of Jesus that he thirsts no more--except for deeper drinks from the living fountain. In that sweet manner, believer, should you thirst; it will not be a thirst of pain, but of loving desire; you will find it a sweet thing to be panting after a fuller enjoyment of Jesus' love. Long ago someone said, "I have been sinking my bucket down into the well full often, but now my thirst after Jesus has become so insatiable, that I long to put the well itself to my lips, and drink right on."
Is this the feeling of your heart now, believer? Do you feel that all your desires are satisfied in Jesus, and that you have no want now, except to know more of Him;, and to have closer fellowship with Him? Then come continually to the fountain, and take of the water of life freely. Jesus will never think you take too much, but will ever welcome you, saying, "Drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved."

Great Expectations
How many of you find yourself extremely busy? I know you will agree with me when I say there never seems to be enough hours in the day for all that needs to be done. If you are like me, you even have a "to do list" to help you get through the endless items that need to be addressed in the course of a day.
The question is...are you really doing what God wants you to do. Yes there are pressing needs, but are they leading you to the place where you need to be in your life? Will doing them help you get closer to fulfilling your purpose?
God has great expectations for His children, and because He has a purpose for each of our lives, we need to constantly ask Him, is this what I need to do, or is this where I should be going? Asking is easy...listening and waiting for the answer is another.
Jesus said "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. " Luke 11:9,10
Let us begin to ask Him what we should be doing and how we can make a greater impact for His kingdom. Let us seek His face in every endeavor we undertake so that our purpose is sure. Let's wait with great expectation for the answers that will come if we wait on the Lord and be of good courage.
Wait I say on the Lord.

Stop Dreaming and Get Going
Who doesn't wish and dream for a better tomorrow? We all want a better life for ourselves and our children. The reality is that we live in a fallen world and if you believe what the Bible says you know it is going to get worst before it gets better. But take heart and be of good courage because we win in the end and not just that, we are to be salt and light. Stop dreaming and get out and make things happen for the good of your community. When is the last time you walked around your community and prayed for your neighbors? Why not be a light today!?!
Tell somebody about the Beloved Prayer Community. Get them to sign up on this blog site and be one of the 1000 praying for Dolton. Be fearless in your quest to get your neighbors and family saved.
Be a soul winner. "Soul winners re not soul winners because of what they know, but because of whom they know and how well they know Him and how much they long for others to know Him." Dolson Trottman -- Founder of the Navigators.

In It To Win It
As children of the Most High God, we have the power to change the world for good. But often when we get a great idea, we begin the project but there is no follow through. We get impatient and we drop the cause to pursuit something else. God is waiting for us to stop putting things off, get going and make an impact for His kingdom. We have to recognize we are in it to win it. We can’t stop we have to complete what we start.
Get ready, get set, now Go.
Get ready, get set, now Go.

Celebrating the 4th of July
The headlines said it all, “Fewer at Taste.” Attendance is down by 700,000. A drop of 21% because the City of Chicago decided to eliminate their customary fire works exhibit and in its place, three separate events. In Calumet City the big fireworks exhibit lasted all of 19 minutes. Now I really don’t like going to places where there are such large crowds…however, those are excellent places to pray.
While most people are pushing their way to delectable goodies that are not really good for them, or looking for a great place to see the fireworks, we intercessors can have a really great time praying for the vendors as well as people coming for the sights and sounds. And how about those in our community who are enjoying their day off at home? We can take the opportunity to meet our neighbors and pray for them too.
Happy Fourth of July America…Let’s all pray for revival to come before the next Fourth of July!

I Am With You
You have to agree that more than ever before we need deliverance in our communities. Many people do not know how to help, nor do they know what has gone wrong. The first thing we have to do is recognize that we have a problem. It’s time we pray for our community and for those who desperately need a way out of the problems they face. God promised that He would deliver Jeremiah and He did. He will do the same for us. The Lord wants to hear from you today. If we lift our voices to Him in prayer…He will answer.

The Beloved Prayer Community - Prayers for Spiritual Leadership
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
The recent violent crime wave that Dolton has experienced, along with the signs of corruption and apathy that are so prevalent in both our civic and faith communities, are only reminders and confirmation as to just how much people here, and everywhere really need the Lord.
In every area, and on every level, we can clearly see the need for a move of God's Spirit in Dolton that will only come through wide spread prayer and repentance; along with God's people rising up together to boldly declare His Kingdom and retake territory that seemingly has been lost. We are God's standard bearers...the army of God...the first to smite at the enemy...and we need to confront him boldly in every place he raises his ugly head. The Bible says:
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19
We've been praying for our civic leaders, to include Mayor Ronnie C. Lewis and the village board; and we encourage you to continue to do so daily. Check our last blog post to see their email addresses, and let them know that you are praying for them on a daily basis. But we also want to remind them that they have a responsibility to govern with godly integrity; and to seek godly counsel as to how to address the needs of their people. Presently, we do not see that reflected in their approach to leadership...and that's a problem. Our prayer is for repentance or removal. Only God knows which it will be.
Let's now add prayer for revival among Dolton's pastors and spiritual leaders.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR PRAYER WALKERS TO BE PRESENT AT THE DOLTON 4TH OF JULY PICNIC AND PARADE. WE WILL WEAR THE GREEN ARMOR (T-SHIRTS) AND APPLY THE MINISTRY OF PRESENCE AMONG THE PEOPLE AS PART OF OUR ON-GOING PRAYER CAMPAIGN. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SHIRT, PLEASE CALL REV. LEFLORE @ 856.9043

- Pray that they will lead the way in humility, repentance, and prayer (Joel 2:17).
- Pray that they will not be motivated by a fleshly desire of recognition, but that they will live and minister for the glory of God alone.
- Pray that God will protect their families from the attacks of Satan
- Pray that they will be faithful in proclaiming the truth of God's Word, and that they will not be bound by tradition or fear of men.
- Pray that they will be pure in life and doctrine (I Timothy 4:16).

The Beloved Prayer Community - Praying for Those In Authority
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. I Timothy 2:1-2
As we pray for and anticipate a move of God's Spirit that will result in spiritual awakening and revival in our community, we are reminded by scripture that intercession must be made daily in our prayers for everyone -especially for those who have rule and authority over us - so that we can live as godly and peaceful people living under godly governmental authority.
Our prayer focus therefore; for the week of May 31 - June 6 is for the civil government of Dolton, IL, and the men and women that God has ordained to bear the burden of responsible leadership for us during increasingly more difficult social and economic times.
Understanding that civil government has been ordained and established by God (Romans 13); our responsibility as citizens is to submit to their authority in reverence to God (verse 2), while praying that they operate in their offices as true "servants of God" ruling in righteousness and with integrity.
Our daily support and intersession for our local government as a body this week is that we:
B - body: pray for their physical needs to include their health, protection, etc.
L - labor: pray for their work, job performance, safety, and satisfaction
E - emotions: pray that love, joy, and peace will be experienced in their lives
S - social: pray for their relationships...with family members, constituents, co-workers, etc.
S - spiritual: pray for them to come to know Jesus as their Savior; or if they already know Him that they would grown in their walk with Him and be a credible witness for Him as they govern and work with you in this neighborhood.
These are our government officials and the days we want to be praying for them. It would be good for you to contact them via their email (listed after their names) to inform them of your prayer commitment for them.

- Ask God to change the hearts of those leaders who would defy His cause, or to replace them with God-fearing people who wouldn't.
